Switzerland 1/2 to qualify from Group A in this summer’s Euro 2016

Competition: Euro 2016
Market: Switzerland to qualify
Odds:

Switzerland haven’t had the best international week, suffering defeats to the Republic of Ireland and Bosnia-Herzegovina in friendlies, but are still looking forward to this summer’s European Championships after a promising qualifying campaign.

The prestigious international tournament doesn’t kick off until June, and the Swiss outfit still have a handful of friendlies to come to build up some momentum ahead of the Championship. A lack of goals in their last two games is somewhat of a worry, so they’re likely to use their remaining friendlies as an indicator of their performance levels.

Switzerland were drawn in Group A along with France, Romania and Albania, and stand a good chance of progressing into the knockouts. Prior to their recent run of consecutive losses, Switzerland had won four of their last six outings in all competitions, and are being backed by the bookmakers to make the next round of Euro 2016.

France are expected to win Group A, and Romania are the side who could challenge Switzerland for second-place, but Vladimir Petković’s men boast a strong squad of players, and were in good form in the qualifiers when the competitive level was raised, and 888 Sport are giving odds of 1/2 for Switzerland to qualify from Group A.
